Vendors We Love

It is critical to start booking vendors as soon as you set your date, especially DJ and Photographer. Most book 12-18 months in advance, so your selection will narrow as your date grows nearer.

Sunset Oaks has an exclusive partnership with Top Shelf Events for Bar Service. Otherwise, there’s an Open Vendor Policy!

Our couples have had STUNNING weddings with a wide range of financial plans! You are the captain of this ship, but we would love to support you by taking some of the hassle out of this process for you.

These are simply vendors we’ve had good experiences with at a fair price.

Some vendors offer discounts to Sunset Oaks couples, but please note, we DO NOT accept “kickbacks” (which is why you don’t see headcount minimums or penalties), and we DO NOT charge to be on our vendor list.

Food

Professional, full-service catering with delivery/setup/supplies/serving/cleanup is required at Sunset Oaks. We have an open vendor policy, but they must be insured, so here are some great options we’ve worked with before!

Budget: You can expect $20 per person to be the starting prices for full service catering. Expect $25+ for higher end menus, additional service, place settings, appetizers, etc. It’s valuable to keep this in mind when budgeting and making your guest list.

*Full service catering is required and typically includes: delivery, chaffing (warming) dishes, staff to setup/serve/cleanup, and plates/cups/cutlery. If you are using someone who is not on this list, they must carry commercial liability insurance and must make contact with us to discuss the facilities to avoid wedding day hiccups. The prep space is limited to the final touches.

Entertainment

Your DJ is not only the Entertainment, but the MC of the day! He or she is the biggest factor in how smoothly the day runs, how interactive the reception is, and SO much more.

The vendors listed here all:

have nice, professional DJ setups with professional facades that don’t take up too much space in your floor plan
download all the music in advance and don’t need wifi
offer support throughout the process
have worked at Sunset Oaks countless times and know what to do in all circumstances (minimal hiccups!)
carry the proper insurance
MC the event as well (no additional charge)
offer some FUN add-ons like uplighting, cold sparks, photo booths, and more!

Insured East Texas DJ’s start around $1000 (more lighting & photobooths are additional). DFW DJ’s start around $1,400

Sunset Oaks does NOT provide audio equipment or wifi- sound equipment and music should be provided by your DJ. Trust us, you’ll regret letting Cousin Johnny spotify your wedding with his ipad and bluetooth speaker.
