Venue Shopping Tip #1. Set your priorities.

  • Date, Price Point, Aesthetic, Capacity, Location?

  • It can be challenging to find all five, but if you know which aspects are most important, it will help you narrow your search!

Venue Shopping Tip #2. Check out Reviews.

  • From booking until after the wedding, you’ll work alongside your venue for months and years to come, so learning from others is key.

  • Do you want to feel how they do afterwards?

Venue Shopping Tip #3. Remember, you ARE comparing apples to oranges.

  • The venue rental fee doesn’t always tell the whole story.

  • What’s included matters A LOT to the bottom line: decor, staff, security, vendor requirements, and more can swing your budget by thousands.

  • If you value transparency and having all the information you need upfront, take that into account from day one. Whether you have to wait for information you need now or not, it shows you what you can expect throughout the planning process.

Frequently Asked Budget Questions:

How much should I expect to spend on my East Texas wedding?

A good rule of thumb when choosing your date is to allocate no more than 25% of your budget to the venue-

Because of the extensive amenities included, the average total wedding budget (including venue, food, cake, photography, DJ, dress, fresh flowers and alcohol) for 125-150 guests on a Saturday wedding is at least $15-20K. Opting for in-house services like coordinating, decorating, and all-inclusive packages can save lots of time to allow you to shop for the best valued outside vendors as well.

Larger guest lists, extra fresh flowers, custom decorations, videography, craft bar menus, and favors are great add-ons for bigger budgets- $25K+.

Smaller guest lists on Sundays or Fridays, creative sweets options, primarily borrowing our decorations, and skipping the alcohol are great ways to shave thousands off of this and stay in $12-15k range.
