Event Prep Specialist

Venue Setup Team

Location: Sunset Oaks Venue – 10361 TX-110, Tyler, TX

Pay: $15–$20/hour (based on experience)

Schedule: Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (1–2 shifts/week during peak season; 1–2 shifts/month off-season)

About the Role:

As part of the Event Setup Crew, you’ll play a key role in transforming the venue for each wedding day. This position is ideal for individuals with an eye for design, attention to detail, and experience in event setup or styling. You’ll collaborate closely with the venue team to ensure décor, tablescapes, and event spaces are guest-ready and aligned with each couple’s vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up tables, chairs, and decorations according to event layouts and timelines

  • Handle light floral and design styling with direction from the venue or clients

  • Move furniture such as backdrops, tables, buckets of flowers

  • Clean spaces (floors, furniture) and prepare both indoor and outdoor spaces prior to events

  • Maintain organization of décor inventory and supplies

  • Occasionally assist with event teardown when needed

  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients and vendors during event setup

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience required in event setup, floral/design styling, or hospitality

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow event layout instructions

  • Comfortable lifting and carrying 40 lbs, climbing stairs, and using a ladder

  • Professional, positive, and team-oriented attitude

  • Available 1-2 Friday or Saturday, or Sunday mornings weekly (occasional weekday availability a plus) weekly

  • Excited about opportunities for growth into event leadership or coordinator roles

THIS IS NOT A WEDDING COORDINATOR OR EVENT PLANNER JOB, although there are opportunities to grow within the team with proven work ethic and talent- we promote from within after 1+ years on the team.
