Event Support & Teardown Role

Location: Sunset Oaks Venue – 10361 TX-110, Tyler, TX

Pay: $15–$18/hour (based on experience)

Schedule: Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (1–2 shifts/week during peak season; 1–2 shifts/month off-season)

About the Role:

As a Venue Host at Sunset Oaks, you’ll be part of the team that keeps wedding days running smoothly from start to finish. This role blends hospitality, customer service, and hands-on physical work to reset the venue. You’ll support clients throughout their event and help ensure the venue is beautifully maintained before, during, and after each celebration. Our venue support team has the opportunity to be part of the most memorable day of our client’s lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist clients, guests, and vendors with professionalism and warmth

  • Maintain venue cleanliness and organization throughout the event

  • Move tables, chairs, and décor as needed for setup, teardown, and event transitions

  • Clean and restock restrooms, sweep and mop floors, and maintain both indoor and outdoor spaces (including patios and trash removal)

  • Participate in event teardown and post-event cleaning without needing direct supervision for each task

  • Communicate with the venue management team to ensure smooth event operations

Ideal Candidate:

  • Reliable, team-oriented, and self-motivated

  • Comfortable interacting with clients and maintaining a professional demeanor

  • Able to lift at least 50 lbs, climb stairs, and stand for long periods

  • Hospitality, restaurant, or event experience preferred

  • Available Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday, least 1-2 x per week (during peak season)

  • Takes pride in doing high-quality, detailed, complete work

  • Open to future growth into leadership or coordinator roles

THIS IS NOT A WEDDING COORDINATOR OR EVENT PLANNER JOB, although there are opportunities to grow within the team with proven work ethic and talent- we promote from within after 1+ years on the team.
